つよくも、ゆたかでも、かしこくもなかった頃のわたくしたちの国に、うつくしく、やさしく、おろかな人々が暮らしていた。
しんじられないかもしれない。けれどそれはほんとうのこと。

うつくしく、やさしく、おろかなり。
そんな時代がかつてあり、人々がいた。そう昔のことではない。わたしたちの記憶の底に、いまも睡っている。
